FACES OF GUINEA BISSAU

It was my first time at Guinea Bissau...I was working for International Medical Assistance (AMI) a Portuguese NGO. The mission was to evaluate the AMI work in the Bolama regioon. At the time Humane Focus didn't exist but my passion for photography was in my backpack and this are some of the photos taken at that time.

Bolama is a province and an island, an almost forgoten area where only AMI worked at that time...and I can assure you that help was indeed needed.

So...lets see some "Faces of Guinea Bissau"...

Beautiful Faces! Simple and happy people.

What I treasure the most from my stay at Bolame are the smiling faces and the all the playtime with the island kids. So many kids and they always seem up to play and always happy. It's kind of contagious.

But not all is fun and play...

If the kids were always smiling the grown ups not so much...it's the burden that one must face when looking to the world around without a childrens eyes...
